Chunky Cable Sweater is a modern take on a classic cable sweater.
The sweater is worked bottom up in a compact braid and cable pattern.
First the ribbed edge of the body is worked back and forth in order to create a slit on both sides of the sweater. Then the body is worked in the round in cable stitch pattern until the work is divided and the armholes are worked. Then the front piece and back piece are worked back and forth.
The shoulders are seamed together with mattress stitch, and stitches are then picked up for the sleeves. Finally, stitches are picked up for the collar which is worked in rib stitch like the ribbed edge on the body and the sleeves.
