Sally Sweater is a simple top-down staple sweater featuring wide stripes and an elegant shoulder construction. It is worked with 1 strand of Heavy Merino + 1 strand of Soft Silk Mohair held together throughout, or alternatively, 2 strands of Merino + 1 strand of Soft Silk Mohair, or 4 strands Soft Silk Mohair.
You begin working the neck and shoulders back and forth in stockinette stitch before joining work and continuing in the round. Sleeves are worked in the round from the top down. Sally Sweater is finished with ribbed edges on body and sleeves, and a folded ribbed neckband.

To choose the correct size, look at the ‘to fit chest circumference’ measurements on the previous page. If your actual chest circumference is, say, 98 cm [38½”], you should choose to knit a size M in order to achieve the intended fit.

Yarn: 1 strand Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino (125 m [137 yd] / 50 g [1.8 oz]), worsted weight yarn, 4 (4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6) balls in color 1 and 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5) balls in color 2 + 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (225 m [246 yd] / 25 g [0.9 oz]), lace-weight yarn, 3 (3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4) balls in color 1 and 2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3) balls in color 2. Sample is in Heavy Merino + Soft Silk Mohair in Powder (color 1) and Blood Orange (color 2) colorways. The blue-striped sample is in 4 strands of Soft Silk Mohair in Wheat (color 1) and Blue Tit (color 2) colorways. The darker blue striped sample is in 2 strands of Soft Silk Mohair in Deep Petroleum Blue (color 1) and Cream (color 2) colorways.

Needles: 4.5 mm / US7 and 6 mm / US10 circular needles, or in size to obtain gauge

Gauge (after blocking): 15 sts and 22 rows = 10 cm [4”] in st st with 6 mm / US10 needles

Notions: Stitch markers, waste yarn or stitch holders, tapestry needle

For a light and summery version of Sally Sweater, the sweater can be worked with 2 strands of Soft Silk Mohair. It is worked with the same needle sizes and knitting gauge as noted in the above description.
Yarn consumption is as follows:
Color 1: 4 (4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5) balls
Color 2: 3 (4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4) balls As a further alternative, the sweater can be worked with 4 strands of Soft Silk Mohair for a chunkier, but at the same time light sweater.  Needle sizes and gauge remain the same as before, and the yarn consumption is the double of the indicated yarn consumption when working with 2 strands of Soft Silk Mohair.
