Merchant & Mills Papercut Tree Fern Fabric 0.5m

The wonderfully delicate Merchant & Mills Papercut Tree Fern fabric is a thin, soft Indian hand-printed cotton fabric. An airy summer dress made from this fabric is delightfully cool on a hot summer's day. The striking Bagru print pattern features shades of green and cool white. The fabric is pre-washed.

Bagru is a small village in Rajasthan, approximately 35 kilometers from Jaipur. It is known for its handmade block print fabrics, which are produced using traditional methods and natural dyes. Bagru patterns are characterized by slightly simpler motifs and a more restrained color palette compared to Sanganer block prints, which are more colorful and intricate in their details. Block printing is still a traditional craft practiced by the Chippa community, who have lived in Bagru for over 400 years.

For the first few washes, the manufacturer recommends washing the fabric at 30–40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This helps to set the color and prevents bleeding during washing. Please note that Indian fabrics may have small irregularities in weaving or printing. These are part of the fabric's character and are not classified as defects.
