Isager Highland Wool is a two-ply, fingering-strength wool yarn spun in Peru. The yarn's beautiful surface is created by spinning several different shades together.
Highland is loosely spun, so it feels softer than most wool yarns of this weight. The yarn works beautifully on its own in things like knits and scarves , but it is specially designed to be combined with other Isager yarns . Isager Highland Wool is great for surface knitting and does not twist when knitted in the round.
This yarn can be used to vary the knitting density depending on whether Isager Highland wool is knitted alone or together with another yarn. Try combining this yarn with Isager Jensen, Soft Fine or Silk Mohair , for example! When combined with Jensen you get a worsted weight yarn, and when combined with Soft Fine or Silk Mohair you get a DK weight yarn.
Isager is a Danish company that has been producing natural fiber yarns and knitting patterns loved by knitters since 1977. Isager's founder, Marianne Isager, and her daughter and company partner, Helga Isager, are internationally renowned designers and knitting book authors.
