PetiteKnit The Scarlet Sweater knitting pattern is a high-quality A5-sized print magazine in Finnish.

Scarlet Sweater is knitted from the top down. The front and back pieces are knitted in the middle, as well as on each side and under the sleeves. First, the upper part of the back piece is knitted back and forth, and the shoulder line is shaped with shortened rows. Then, an i-cord edge is made along the cast-on edge. The shoulder stitches are picked up from the i-cord and the shoulders are knitted back and forth separately. The shoulders are joined to form the upper part of the front piece. The front and back pieces are joined at the armpits, and the body is knitted in the round with circular needles. The sleeves are knitted from the stitches picked up from the armholes. Finally, the rib at the neckline is knitted from the picked up stitches.

Size selection guide

The shirt has about 25 cm of slack in the smaller sizes and gradually less in the larger sizes. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) are designed to fit a chest circumference of 75–80 (80–85) 85–90 (90–95) 95–100 (100–110) 110–120 (120–130) 130–140 (140–150) cm. The measurements of the finished shirt are given on the front page of the pattern. Please note that the measurements will only match if you follow the given knitting density. Measure yourself before starting the work to ensure you choose the right size. Example: if your chest circumference (or the widest part of your upper body) is 90 cm, choose size S. The chest circumference of a size S shirt is 115 cm, so in this case there would be 25 cm of room to spare.
