PetiteKnit Chestnut Sweater The knitting pattern is an A5-sized high-quality print magazine. The pattern is available in both English and Finnish .
The pattern uses Peer Gynt yarn from Sandnes Garn.
The Chestnut Sweater is knitted from the top down. First, the back piece is knitted back and forth, and the shoulders are shaped with shortened rows. Then the shoulders are knitted back and forth separately with circular needles. The shoulders are joined to form a front yoke. The front and back pieces are joined at the armpits, and the body is knitted in the round with circular needles. The sleeve stitches are picked up from the armholes, and the sleeves are knitted in the round to the cuffs with circular needles and double pointed needles or by looping. Finally, the large polo collar is knitted from the stitches picked up from the neckline.
Make a sample patch first so you know what needle size you need for the correct density.
Size selection guide
The shirt is designed to be oversized and has about 30 cm of room, meaning that its circumference should be about 30 cm larger than your own chest circumference. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit a chest circumference of 80–85 (85–90) 90–95 (95–100) 100–110 (110–120) 120–130 (130–140) 140–150 cm.
The measurements of the finished shirt are given on the front page of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting so you know how to choose the right size. Example: if your chest circumference (or the widest part of your upper body) is 90 cm, choose size S. The chest circumference of a size S shirt is 120 cm, so in this case there would be 30 cm of slack.
