PetiteKnit The Louisiana Sweater is a beautiful knitted sweater that is perfect for beginner knitters. The knitting instructions are in Finnish and are available in a high-quality A5-sized print magazine.

The Louisiana Sweater is knitted from the top down. Raglan increases are made at the yoke. The rib edge at the neckline is folded and the edge is knitted to the wrong side. The sweater has a short and feminine cut. The cuff edges are knitted tight. The edges and hem should be finished in an Italian way to make the edge neat and elastic.
Make a sample patch first so you know how to choose the right needle size. There are video tutorials for the techniques used in the pattern at www.petiteknit.com.

Size selection guide

The shirt has about 10–15 cm of slack, meaning that its circumference should be about 10–15 cm larger than the circumference of the upper body at its largest. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL are designed to correspond to a chest circumference of 80–85 (85–90) 90–95 (95–100) 100–110 (110–120) 120–130 cm. The measurements of the finished shirt are given on the front of the pattern (note that the measurements are only valid if you follow the given knitting density). Measure yourself at the widest point of your upper body before starting work to know which size fits you best. Example: if your chest circumference (or the widest part of your upper body) is 90 cm, choose size S. The chest circumference of a size S shirt is 104 cm, so in this case there would be 14 cm of room to spare.
