PetiteKnit Novice Sweater pattern

The PetiteKnit Novice Sweater pattern is an A5-sized high-quality print magazine. The instructions are available in both Finnish and English.

The pattern uses Isager's Jensen and Silk Mohair yarns.

Other yarns suitable for the pattern include Isager's Alpaca 3 yarn, Biches & Bûches ' Le Coton & Alpaca yarn and Järbo's Select no 5 yarn.

The Novice Sweater is knitted in the round from top to bottom. This means that you start by knitting the collar, then the yoke, then the body and finally the sleeves. The sweater is knitted in stockinette stitch. The collar, cuffs and bottom of the sweater are knitted in rib. The Novice Sweater is a round yoke, which is shaped by knitting four evenly spaced increases.

Size guide and measurements

You can only trust the measurements given in the pattern if your knitting density is correct. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit a chest circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The Novice Sweater has a 5-10 cm allowance. This means that if your measured chest circumference is 90 cm (measure yourself with a tape measure), you should knit size S, which has a chest circumference of 98 cm in the pattern.

Knitting density: 16 stitches x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm stocking stitch on 6 mm needles

Needles: 5.5 mm and 6 mm (40 and 80 or 100 cm) circular needles, 5.5 mm double pointed needles (if you are not using Magic Loop technology)
