BC Garn Summer in Kashmir is a wonderfully soft cotton yarn with 10% cashmere. The soft and light combination of cotton and cashmere makes the yarn popular for year-round use. The intended use of the yarn is reflected in the story behind the name of the yarn. Kashmir is a region in the Himalayan mountains at an altitude of 1700 meters, where summers are mild and sometimes even cool. The purpose of Summer in Kashmir yarn is to provide all the properties that are required of clothing in varying temperatures. Clothing made from Summer in Kashmir yarn can be used in a variety of different climate zones, indoors and outdoors. The small proportion of cashmere in the yarn gives the yarn a delicate softness that is visible when holding the yarn up to the light, without making the yarn "fluffy and hairy", which is why the yarn is also perfect for baby clothes.
Summer in Kashmir yarn is ethically produced and GOTS certified. The cotton used in the yarn is grown on GOTS certified farms in Turkey and the cashmere is sourced from Mongolia. The yarn is spun and dyed in Turkey.
